Batman to the Rescue

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Jared loves to play with his bow and arrow. The Batman mask was a new additon to the outfit. He is my hero. :-)

New Pet

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

We went to visit the families and came home with a new pet. Uncle Luke had some extra hamsters on hand and offered the children one. So we are now proud owners of a white hamster. Beka and Jared agreed to name it Blanket.

Homemade Clay

Friday, June 6th, 2008

First, Andrew comes up with great ideas to keep the kids occupied. He has a wonderful way of helping them imagine the greatest things in the world. Beka and Jared love to play with Daddy. This all leads up to another idea that the kids absolutely loved, but didn’t quite work out.

Andrew and the kids found some clay dirt over at the construction area and brought it home to "make" clay. They took a bowl and filled it with water and the clay and mixed that all up. When I got home, there was clay everywhere; in the curtains, on the walls, on library books. But, hey, the kids had fun and that was all that matter.

A few days later I let Beka and Jared play with the clay. It wasn’t quite the right consistency or smell, but we all learned something and had a great time.

Waterfall

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

The construction has, also, caused a minor waterfall to occur. They are pumping water away from the construction site into the small pond and that has created a river/waterfall that the kids enjoy splashing around in.

Construction in the Subdivision

The subdivision we moved into is not completed yet meaning there are houses being built and new sections completely undeveloped yet. The great thing is that means there is a lot of construction machines around all the time along with plenty of dirt to play in. Beka and Jared are very much in a climbing phase right now. The lovely dirt piles around here are the best things to climb.
