We’re Here!

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Well, we made it to the new house. Andrew is at his first day of work now. The kids have adjusted beautifully. They love the two ponds that are in walking distance, the playground and basketball court that are right across the street, and the extra play space in the house. I, on the other hand, am having a hard time adjusting to the new space and where to put things. I know it will get there, but right now I have no desire to unpack because I don’t know where anything will go.

I will try to get pictures up as soon as I find the camera.

Firefly hunting, paratrooper throwing, basketball shooting family

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Those are just a few of the activites we have been doing to keep the family busy. We have also been swimming and playing at friends houses. It is nice to be busy and still have times when all you do is play pretend at home.

Andrew traveled to France in June and was gone for about a week. I either became delirious from all the time alone with the kids or just wanted to do something special. I let Beka and Jared stay up way past their bedtime so we could look for lightning bugs. They had a blast.

Next on the list was the paratroopers. When Andrew had gone on another trip somewhere, he had brought back these paratrooper guys for the kids. You know the ones that you throw up in the air and then they float down. Well, these will keep the kids entertained for about 15-20 minutes especially Jared.

Unfortunately one lone paratrooper got caught in the tree…..

Luckily, Daddy was there to save the day!

These last couple of pictures are of the kids trying to shoot baskets with Daddy.

Having fun with the Camera

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

The kids really enjoy taking pictures with Mommy’s camera and sometimes the pictures even turn out well.

Below is a picture Beka took of the clouds

Jared took this one of the flower and patio in the backyard

I have fun playing with the camera too. Below are two pictures that were taken in bursts. Andrew then put them together for me so they look like they are moving. YOu have to click on them to actually see them move.

Breaking News

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

Just now, my five-year old daughter is downstairs multiplying. Does this shock anyone besides me? She is 5!! I am so not ready for this. I don’t even like math. Yes, I know she has been adding for about 6 months now, but she can’t write sentences yet. How can she be mulitplying?!

And my four-year old is now capable of spelling his name and writing some of it. He recognizes 20 of the 26 letters and all numbers up to ten.

I just wanted to have some documentation of my children’s brillance. :-)
