Growing Everyday

Recently, my family went to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. I have to say it was a BLAST! We spend over 2 hours there and still hadn’t seen everything. I promise to post pictures later.

First, for Beka we had to visit the science discovery area called Science Works. It was huge. They had a lot of experiments with water and a construction area that Jared loved. I think we spent the most time in this section. We also visited the Dinosaur area and Maze-a-palooza. There was a play area but it was a little young for my two kids. They also had a carousel that Andrew had the joy of taking the kids on. Unfortunately, we were all too tired to visit the Spymaster area.

The main exhibit was a glass tower that was just amazing. There were videos to show you how the tower was made and a garden of glass scupltures.

Jen was out shopping for pool toys for the kids. I had just put them to bed and was checking my e-mail when I saw something small brown and furry out of the corner of my eye that scampered across the living room. I let the kids know not to be afraid, but that there was a chipmunk in the house. Jared was already asleep, and Beka just got more excited and wanted to see it. I heard scratching coming from Jared’s room and peeked in long enough to see it scoot under his bed. I dumped out all of Jared’s toys from his clothes basket hoping to trap it under there. It ran behind the dresser which made the basket unfeasible. We had a small bag that held blocks, so I took that in my hand hoping to grab the sucker and then turn the bag inside-out. I grabbed it, but it managed to wiggle free and climb up my arm and onto the front of my shirt. I freaked out a bit and tossed it onto the floor where it made a dash for the closet. After much maneuvering, I managed to bag it on top of the winter boots. I let Beka know I had caught it and then gave it some freedom in the backyard.
