Glittering

Beka:  Someone’s been glittering Daddy.

Me:  Glittering???

Beka:  Yes, you know, when they throw trash on the street.

Cyberchase

Saturday, March 25th, 2006

My children are addicted to an animated PBS show called Cyberchase. It’s all about kids defeating the hacker in cyberspace by using their math skills to outsmart him and his goons.

After taking my daughter the bathroom, I was proceeding to first snap her skirt and then do the zipper second. She looked me straight in the eye and said, “Do the INVERSE Daddy”. I said, “Of course dear”, and proceeded to zip first and then snap. It was a proud moment even if I can’t take credit for it.

Moving

Wednesday, March 15th, 2006

Well, it’s official. The Westbergs are moving. We put in an offer on a beautiful little split level this morning and our offer was accepted tonight after a 3-way bidding war.

We liked the home because it had a big backyard for the kids to play in, beautiful landscaping, deck, hardwood floors in the kitchen and bedrooms (great for messy kids), an in-ground wooden swingset, 6-panel oak doors, oak trim throughout, and lots of kitchen cabinet space. The neighborhood is also much nicer than our current one. More and more homes on our street have been converted to government-assisted housing lately, so needless to say, it was time to move.

Reading

Tuesday, March 7th, 2006

Both Beka and Jared have really gotten into reading themselves lately. Beka really enjoys reading her Silly Sally book, and Jared has learned the words to Brown Bear, Brown Bear. He took the book to bed with him last night.
